Where is the awe? Where is the sense that if dinosaurs really walked the earth, a film about them would be more than a monster movie? Where are the ooohs and ahhhs? ``The Lost World: Jurassic Park'' demonstrates even more clearly than ``Jurassic Park'' (1993) that the underlying material is so promising, it deserves a story not written on autopilot. Steven Spielberg, a gifted filmmaker, should he reimagined the material, should he seen it through the eyes of someone looking at dinosaurs, rather than through the eyes of someone looking at a box-office sequel.

The movie is well done from a technical viewpoint, yes. The dinosaurs look amazingly real, and we see them plunge into the midst of 360-degree action; a man on a motorcycle even rides between the legs of a running beast. It can be said that the creatures in this film transcend any visible signs of special effects and seem to walk the earth. But the same realism isn't brought to the human characters, who are bound by plot conventions and action formulas, and scripted to do stupid things so that they can be chased and sometimes eaten by the dinosaurs.

The story of the film is simple. Rapunzel is a princess that has hair that has power to heal and keep people young, but once it's cut, it loses all power. When Rapunzel was just an infant she was kidned by an old woman who locked her away in a tower to keep her hair all to herself. Rapunzel grows up thinking that her kidner is in fact her mother, and the reason she's locked away is because her 'mother' wants to keep her safe from the hardships of the world. I'd tell you more about the movie but I don't want to ruin it. Let's just say she runs away. Very simple, fairy tale plot.

This movie has enough action and comedy to keep boys hy and enough emotion, romance and drama to keep the girls hy. There are a few scenes that made me tear a little, well maybe more than a little. Some scenes he so much emotion and depth that it tugs at your heartstrings, and gives you goosebumps, especially the lantern scenes. Disney is testing the waters of their film making with this one. There were many alcohol references and even references about being drunk. There's violence, people getting stabbed, and yes, even blood. Which you never see is Disney movies.

Overall, I highly recommend this movie, to everyone. Anyone could enjoy this movie. It's very hard not to like it.

Great Expectations is set in England in the early 1800s.The author uses Pip,the main character,to tell the story .Hing lost his parents,Pip lives with his older sister and her husband Joe .Pip"s sister often abuses him,but Joe is a kind and simple man who would rather die than see any harm come to Pip.

By the end of the novel ,Pip has changed a lot .He learns that wealth does not buy hiness and that friends are more important than a fancy education.

The script for this is a bit on the simplistic side but it makes sense that it was, considering the show was trying to draw a new market. At any rate, the positives far outweigh the negatives in this face paced romp. Paul McGann is splendid as the Doctor and instantly makes the role his own--something it occasionally took the TV Doctors a few episodes to fully achieve. Sylvester McCoy, as the outgoing Doctor is flawless. Solitary, a bit more serious and melancholy in earance and urgent and insistent in his heartrending final moments in the operating room. This scene is one of the most emotionally charged scenes in all of Whodom and certainly makes for one of the most intense regenerations of the Doctor's centuries spanning existence! The new set design for the interior of the TARDIS is breathtaking in all its dark Victorian splendor and the supporting roles, filled by Daphne Ashbrook, Yee Jee Tso and Eric Roberts (as the Master), are top notch. Even minor roles like that of the morgue attendant, played by MADtv's Will Sasso, are good. The locations are also standout and there is some very nice dialogue between the Doctor and Grace Holloway (played by Ashbrook) and some fun moments where Roberts really gets to ham it up! It was very disointing that this pilot never led to a new Fox series but this movie is a real treat. Let's just keep our fingers crossed for a new BBC series in the near future!!! Don't let the somewhat simplistic plot detract from an otherwise wonderful production. If this ever comes out on video rent or buy it post haste!
